Silent Passenger Airplane Invented
Engineers at Cambridge University have unveiled a design for airplanes that are silent once airborne. The "flying wing" aircraft has engines on top of the back that direct engine noise upward. They hope to have a prototype working within a year.

Silent airplanes would definately bring my property value up. :) I'm all for it. People who do not live under a flight path definitely take airplance noise for granted. I use to be one of them. Less airplance noise would make the country a better place, that's for sure.
there are many advantages but i love airplane noise
and not all planes could do this i belei e this is the design of a high flying aircraft so youll have noise nearr airports still i believe also during climbing to at least 10000 feet agl (above ground level)
This is just what i think from the picture from analyzing it for about 30 seconds it may be completley wrong
the airplane was invented by the Inca civilization,plus the telescope,medicine,agriculturu,astronomy,and much more Ha, let me mention also tha brain operations were performed by my culture,the proof is in the museum of Tacna Peru, and parts of Bolivia.
I don't think the message is that the plane is silent....rather that it's silent to the passengers due to engine location and cabin design. Nothing that burns fossil fuel without an extensive muffler system (which airplanes don't have due to performance reasons) is silent, ever. Just silent to those inside due to engine location in the airflow.
