Plastic Pilot Certificate May Become Mandatory

The FAA Friday proposed a rule that would require all pilots to get a plastic certificate within two years of the rule going into effect. The new rule would also require owners to notify the FAA within five days of selling their aircraft.

Hi Mike!

Yeah I heard this on the AOPA site as well. I just cant fathom the reason for forcing people to a plastic one. Nest we will have to swipe it going in to the FBO :(

Anyway, i've written an article on the new Age 60 rule debate.
Age 60 Rule

You are welcome to post it on your site for discussion. I would always appreciate a link back to my main page at www.askcybersteve.com :)

It is a fraud measure. The old licenses were a piece of cake t duplicate. The new ones have holograms and other measures. I think it is a good idea. A needed measure? No not really. But, the premise is good.

Just found your site. I like it! I'll add it to my blogroll.

This is all about fraud, BUT... who's honestly going to be able to go into an FBO, flash their Cert, grab a set of keys and go flying.

They'd have to sit down and do a written, plus a checkout and whatever else they're doing.
